Pre-intermediate Tibetan 

 This course is for stu­dents who can read Tibetan but need more prac­tice. We shall cov­er simple gram­mar and vocab­u­lary, and hone read­ing skills using care­fully chosen dharma texts and clas­sic­al Tibetan pas­sages.  By the end of the course stu­dents will be able to read more quickly, and speak basic Tibetan. The text­book used will be ‘Manu­al of Authen­t­ic Tibetan’ by Klara Hendry­chova and Ten­zin Cho­ep­h­al, the lat­ter being the course tutor. 

This course is not recom­men­ded for stu­dents who have recently taken our beginner’s class.  We expect those stu­dents to prac­tice their spelling and read­ing skills for at least two months before mov­ing up.  Know­ing how to read quickly is an import­ant found­a­tion of the Tibetan language.

All the course mater­i­als are provided by the us without any fee.
